After a 37-year career with Cargill – North Star – BlueScope, Rich Menzel will be retiring from the company November 1st. Rich was the first employee of the North Star BlueScope Joint Venture on June 1, 1995. He started his career with Cargill in 1982 and relocated to six different assignments in Kansas, Minnesota, Michigan, Texas, and Tennessee before helping with the start-up of the Delta facility. Rich stated “I am so proud and grateful for the opportunities I have received from this great company. I will always be an advocate and friend of North Star BlueScope Steel”.
Rich has made an immense contribution to get North Star to where it is today, and he will be greatly missed.
Sheri Caldwell started August 1 as the new Vice President of Human Resources, replacing Rich Menzel. Sheri has over 20 years of Human Resource Leadership experience. For the past 6 years, Sheri has been the HR Director for the Trade Group of the Andersons in Maumee, OH. She has also served in HR leadership positions with Hickory Farms, Staples, and the Toledo Zoo. Sheri has a Doctorate and MBA from the University of Toledo in HR Management, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Bowling Green State University.
Sheri is prepared to take on this role and fill those shoes!
